An oddly quiet piece for how much energy it took to cover this large canvas…and I learned something wonderful in the process – sometimes the hardware store isn’t so bad.

 

I Love painting on Japanese Unryu paper. In this case I randomly placed pieces on the canvas like a collage and just let the texture do as it wished.

Having so much fun with my new “Beneath” series in oil and encaustics.  Couple of burns on my arm as I get used to the handling all the hot equipment… But well worth it!  I think this piece was inspired by all the Christmas cards and decorations that have suddenly appeared every where…they seem to have  gotten a hold of my subconscious.

 

 

Rediscovering the beauty of working in oils. Combined with encaustics a whole new world opens.

This was a tough one. I laid out the texture on the canvas first and the strength of it forced me in a very different direction than the concept I imagined. Reminds me of life.

 

This is a very textured piece with a canvas that was primed with texture flakes throughout in order to catch the different layers of color. It’s a bit like a rainbow and isn’t that what a peaceful moment found feels like?

 

This little piece is on it’s way to a wedding in Colorado via Texas. What a special thrill to have it given as a gift to commemorate the occasion. Congrats to the happy couple !
