Finding a Voice

1011_MG_2659 (1)

After a Summer and Fall of playing and experimenting with wax and the variety of mediums it is compatible with, I feel I may have finally found the vehicles to work with wax in a way honest to my creative way and artistic self. These are the results I am hoping to carry further into 2016. So happy to have this sense of direction with my encaustic practice as we close out another year čÖé

1. So Many Blessings 12 x16 (pigmented wax & Pan pastels)

2.Blessed Days 12×16 (pigmented wax and Pan Pastels)

3.Beauty Reign 27×40 (pigmented wax, cold wax and oil)

Playing around with all the different things that can be done with the wax. Scraping, layering, scraping, glazing, and did I say Scraping? Letting it develop in it’s own way in it’s own time. ┬áNext step…Going BIG čÖé
